Jaya’s Meen Pollichathu

Ingredients
1. King Fish ( Sear Fish) ​1 kg
2. Turmeric ​1 TSP
Mustard ​¼ TSP
Salt ​To taste
3. Oil​½ cup
4. Onions – Fine Chopped ​1 cup
5. Tomatoes – Fine Chopped ​1 cup
6. Chilli​Powder​2 TSP
Coriander Powder ​2 TSP
Pepper Powder ​½ TSP
Mustard ​¾ tsp
Small Onions ​(Pearl Onions)​6
Garlic ​9
Ginger – Fine Chopped ​1 TSP
Fenugreek​a pinch
Salt ​To Taste
 
7. Vinegar ​1 TBS
8. Sugar ​2 pinch
9. Coconut Milk​½ cup
 
 
 
Procedure : ( 30 – 40  minutes )
 
1. Clean Fish. Make a paste of  (2) and marinate the fish with it. Leave it aside. Grind to paste item (6). Leave it aside.
2. With a little oil, fry the fish ( medium heat ). Do not crispy fry the fish. Both side to be equally fried. Drain the remaining oil out .
3. Add the remaining oil to this used oil ( = ¼ cup), fry onions and tomatoes till oil comes out.
4. Add item (6) - paste. Stir  for 2 –3 minutes.
5. Add salt and vinegar and sugar to this. Stir  for 2 – 3 minutes.
6. Add Coconut milk and keep stirring , till the coconut milk is completely absorbed and the oil separates.
7. Add the half fried fish. Keep turning it so that both sides gets cooked well and the masala is well absorbed by the fish.  
8. This is a dry dish……Serve hot
